Just a tip to keep in mind… if you put a scented soap bar in the bag, and it sits for more than a day or so, the food stuff manages to absorb that perfumey taste. (I was raised on the mission field, and learned this lesson WELL from our missionary packages that we received.)

@34fabulous Or by telling the world, her actions inspire others to do the same, which turns ripples in the water to waves of generosity. I doubt the person receiving the bag even cares if her intentions are greedy or not. I bet ya that’s the last thing that comes to mind whey they are given a bag. So what reward exactly is she not going to receive by telling the world about her good deed?

@ThisIsWhatISay94 I found the same blog post Blair did & started to assemble these & handing them out to the homeless panhandling on the streets. I call’em “Karma Bags”- something about Blessing Bags rubbed me the wrong way. I like Care Packages- that works, too. My Karma Bag isn’t as full as Blair’s, but its getting there. I get supplies from Costco so I can make plenty of bags & keep the unit price down. I’ll have to checkout the $1 Tree. I also include dehydration pills.

This is such an amazing idea! where i live, there are soo many homeless people even just walking on the side of the highway asking people in cars for food or change. I think that im gonna try this at least 2 times every month.

I love this! it is very inspirational and you are showing that giving can be a creative process. so many young people feel like they can’t do anything significant so they don’t bother, so we need more people to show them that small things count! I think you should still consider opening the animal shelter some day, or perhaps one of your subscribers can motivate us with how they would get started. take care xoxo

u dont have to only do this for the holidays….its a nice thought but people feel like they always have to giving during the holidays..why should the holidays define your kindness and empathy for the homeless? I am going to do this throughout the year for sure

When my brother was in year seven, he went out by himself, told my mum he was going to make a difference, she had NO IDEA where he was going, but he spent his pocket money to go to a homeless shelter about a mile away, and he bought a massive trunk full of blankets, pillows and soap and gave it to them. They he went back home =)
