His routine on the Greeks and Ouzo would work just as well on Malta and Kinnie. That is a soft drink they make, I tried it twice, with a gap of several years in between, and I can verify that there’s a damn good reason why that stuff hasn’t made any splash outside Malta. Aside from that, I like Malta a lot, but don’t drink Kinnie!

You could throw a bum comedy script at this man-and give him a few minutes-he’d absorb it-and convert it into the absolute masterclass of stand up. Outside of the Beatles, this is the man who could give an American art back to them with panache.

dave allen was a little strange but what he did great was explain his life experiences good and bad in an honest way quality. question do you think a comedian would survive in this day and age with similar qualities but more up to date if not i will just watch and admire jb

Dave Allen – the greatest ever, think he needs recognition in this day because boy do we really need to see the truth and laugh about it now more than ever. If someone in the producing world has any sense they will bring back a series on showing him from his young years right through – but not a 1 hr programme but a good showing – someone make it happen!

When you see cunts like Michael McIntyre and Allen Carr poofing about the stage with thier insincere pish, you realise exactly how talented people like Dave Allen were.
